United States Jewelry News: A Heartbreaking Loss Sparks a Wave of Compassion The jewelry community in Texas and beyond has united in a remarkable display of compassion and action after a devastating tragedy struck the beloved Camp Mystic in the Texas Hill Country. The Christian girls’ summer camp—once a cherished childhood retreat for many, including Lauren Bellemare, founder of L’Heritage Fine Jewelry—was engulfed by deadly flash floods on July 4. At least 27 people, including campers, a counselor, and the camp’s director, lost their lives after the Guadalupe River surged nearly 30 feet in under an hour.

Bellemare, emotionally tied to the camp where she spent ten formative summers, is honoring the lives lost and supporting those left behind with a special tribute: a jade bead necklace featuring a golden charm of the sun rising over hills. The piece is being sold to raise funds for the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund. In her words, the necklace is “a symbol of resilience and hope… a reminder that healing, like the sunrise, always comes.”

Other jewelers are stepping up, too. This United States Jewelry News report shows that Texas-based brands like Kendra Scott and James Avery have launched dedicated initiatives to support recovery efforts. James Avery, headquartered in the hard-hit town of Kerrville, is donating 100% of proceeds from its Deep in the Heart of Texas charm and has pledged $1 million toward immediate and long-term community aid.

Support Pours in From Across the Nation

Outside Texas, support continues to grow. Los Angeles-based Circa 1700 is auctioning a customizable Secret Talisman Orb via Instagram, with proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross and the Texas Hill Country Disaster Relief Fund. “It’s personal,” says founder Susan Cohen, whose husband hails from Texas. “This is my way of giving back to a place that has meant so much to us.”

Lisa “Lele” Sadoughi, a Texas native, announced her brand is contributing to Lulu’s Memorial Fund and a women’s emergency fund tied to the camp. Meanwhile, Little Words Project introduced a limited-edition “Strength” bracelet, inspired by the spirit of Mystic campers, with all net proceeds going to relief efforts.

Austin-based Kendra Scott is also donating 100% of sales from its popular Everlyne bracelets and has organized drop-off locations to collect essential supplies for flood victims. Demand has been so strong that both Kendra Scott and James Avery reported sellouts and are working quickly to restock.

Jewelry That Heals the Heart

For Bellemare and many others, the heartbreak runs deep. Camp Mystic was more than a summer camp—it was a sacred space for connection, character-building, and faith. With no screens or distractions, campers immersed themselves in nature, friendship, and purpose. That legacy now fuels the collective response to help the community heal.

These heartfelt efforts from the jewelry world are more than symbolic. They are tangible gestures of unity, love, and remembrance. As donations pour in and tributes sell out, one message rings clear: even in unimaginable loss, compassion and community shine through. Jewelry becomes more than adornment—it becomes a vessel of memory, healing, and hope.
